Sample Question

JustJeans stores can be found in three cities. The first matrix below presents combined monthly sales for three types of
men’s and women’s jeans at their stores. The second matrix below gives the monthly sales for women’s jeans.

  1. Explain what the entry "150" represents in the second matrix.
  2. Construct the matrix that shows the monthly sales for men’s jeans for each brand and each city.

Sample Response

  1. The "150" is in the "Wrangler" column and the "San Diego" row.
So that means there were 150 Wranglers sold in San Diego.
The title of that matrix is "Women's Jeans sales" so we know those 150 Wranglers were women's jeans.
